Read full description of the books:

Ayaan Hirsi Ali captured the world’s attention with Infidel, the critically acclaimed, eye-opening memoir of her Muslim childhood in Africa and Saudi Arabia and her eventual escape to the Netherlands to avoid a forced marriage. After a Dutch film director with whom she made a documentary about the mistreatment of Muslim women was murdered by a radical Islamist, death threats forced Hirsi Ali into hiding, ultimately leading her to move to a more secure life in the United States working with a political think tank.

Nomad is the story of everything that happened after Hirsi Ali left Holland and moved to America in a brave bid to start an entirely new life. In it she recounts her renewed contact with her family after her father’s death, and her attempts to live her newly adopted principles in the face of continued attempts by Islamists to stifle her free speech. Through vivid anecdotes and observations of people, cultures, and political debacles, she weaves together her recent personal story with the stories of other women and men she encounters. With a deep understanding of the situation of Muslim women in the world today and her singular, unwavering courage, Hirsi Ali offers her always notable, often controversial analysis of Islam from her new vantage in America.

Ebook Nomad: From Islam to America: A Personal Journey Through the Clash of Civilizations read Online! "Ayaan Hirsi Ali; Somali: Ayaan Xirsi Cali; born Ayaan Hirsi Magan 13 November 1969 in Mogadishu, Somalia) is a Dutch feminist, writer, and politician. She is the estranged daughter of the Somali scholar, politician, and revolutionary opposition leader Hirsi Magan Isse. She is a prominent critic of Islam, and her screenplay for Theo Van Gogh's movie Submission led to death threats. Since van Gogh's murder by a Muslim in 2004, she has lived in seclusion under the protection of Dutch authorities.

When she was eight, her family left Somalia for Saudi Arabia, then Ethiopia, and eventually settled in Kenya. She sought and obtained political asylum in the Netherlands in 1992, under circumstances that later became the center of a political controversy. In 2003 she was elected a member of the Tweede Kamer (the Lower House of the Dutch parliament), representing the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). A political crisis surrounding the potential stripping of her Dutch citizenship led to her resignation from the parliament, and led indirectly to the fall of the second Balkenende cabinet.

She is currently a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a think tank linked to neoconservatism, working from an unknown location in the Netherlands. In 2005, she was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She has also received several awards for her work, including Norway's Human Rights Service's Bellwether of the Year Award, the Danish Freedom Prize, the Swedish Democracy Prize, and the Moral Courage Award for commitment to conflict resolution, ethics, and world citizenship."

Reviews of the Nomad: From Islam to America: A Personal Journey Through the Clash of Civilizations

MAX

It was a surprisingly interesting book. Very highly recommended.

OLLIE

There are clear drawbacks

DARCY

A charming book, a lot more!

ELLIOTT

This is a very predictable author. When you get a book for free, you can read it. The intrigue is present, the unbundling is clear.

NIAMH

My life was divided into two halves: before and after reading the book!
