Read full description of the books:

Here's exactly how I feel about Davies' love for books, reading, and story-telling, and how it spills into his writing:

"the clerisy" -- "those who read for pleasure, but not for idleness; who read for pastime but not to kill time; who love books, but do not live by books."

I am amazed at how certain people seem to know so many things about obscure things and how they bring those things out of obscurity and into the light of life. Robertson Davies is one of those people. Half the people/books/plays he writes about I've never heard of, but he makes me want to find them and read them and enjoy them. He must have been an inspiring professor and speaker. He makes me want to search out not just the obvious beauties of creative minds, but also the obscure ones -- it somehow affirms in me that all people have interesting stories to tell and can be founts of creativity if we only allowed them to do so.
